BookAChange Music Scholarship Program

The BookAChange Music Scholarship is a project started by the BookMyShow Foundation aimed at empowering young Indian musicians belonging to lower sections of society. Launched in early 2025, the program commits to 500 scholarships to support people who are going for music studies in various fields, including instrumental, vocal, audio production, songwriting, and music business.

Benefit of Scholarship

100% of your tuition fee is cover.

  • 90% of the tuition fees are cover as per the institution’s payment schedule.
  • The remaining 10% of fees is given after completing the course.

 Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Citizenship of India and age must be 16 years or older.
  • Show skill and outstanding ability in your selected area of music.
  • Be dedication to making a career in music.
  • Be from an economically underprivileged background, with an overall annual family income not more than ₹12,00,000.

Documents Required

To apply, applicants need to submit:

  • Educational documents: Attested marksheets/certificates from the current or last institution attended.
  • Financial documents: Aadhar and PAN cards, bank statements of the last 3 years, salary slips of the last 3 months, income tax returns of the last 3 years, or a non-filing statement if applicable.
  • Music credentials: music course certificates/marksheets, a music portfolio video, and an audition video.
  • Admission information: Letter of acceptance/admission from the academy/university, fee structure, and payment details.
  • Statement of Purpose: A written essay (not more than 500 words) or a video essay (not more than 90 seconds).
  • Letters of recommendation (optional): From music mentors or collaborators.

Video Submission Guidelines

  • All videos should be upload to YouTube as ‘Unlisted.’
  • Music Portfolio: A summary of musical achievements such as performances, compositions, and collaborations.
  • Audition Video:
    • Start with an introduction (your full name, what you specialize in, and the scholarship you’re applying for).
    • The video needs to be one continuous shot without any edits.
    • Make sure your face and instrument (if you play one) can be seen the whole time.
    • Length: 1 to 2 minutes.

  3. Register by filling in the necessary information or log in with your current account details.
  4. Accept the rules and start a new application.
  5. Enter a valid email address, verify it using the OTP sent, and complete the application form carefully.
